Rivia released its own AI assistant on the patient profile level, called Spark. Spark can help you quickly analyze a patient's data and answer questions about that patient.

Please note: Spark is a beta feature. It is important to always verify responses against source data.

Spark Capabilities

You can use Spark to easily surface relevant events of specific events or topics (e.g. a narrative of medical history). Spark can also help you quickly visualize which swim lanes you'd like to see for a patient, rather than manually selecting them.

Spark is not currently equipped to write comprehensive patient narratives, or narratives that meet regulatory grade requirements (eg. CIOMS forms). It also can't generate calculations on raw data, or generate new plots.

Using Spark

  1. You can access Spark by navigating to the Patient Profile via our navigation panel on the left.

  2. Choose the patient you'd like to analyze, then select "Ask Spark" in the center panel.

2. After selecting "Ask Spark" you'll see a list of example questions you can use to get started. Select one of these, or type your own question about the patient. If you have previous conversations with Spark from before, you can start a new conversation by selecting the "+" sign.

4. Spark will provide a response to your question. You can continue the conversation with Spark by asking follow up questions to drill into the data further.

5. In its answer, Spark will reference data sources in numbered gray circles. You can open these up in a pop up panel by hovering over the numbered circle.

6. It is also possible to adjust the data swimlanes displayed on the right by selecting the "View Data" button under Spark's response. This will update the swimlanes to just showcase the data referenced in the response.

Past Conversations in Spark

Find past conversations in Spark by selecting the "Show all conversations" icon next to the plus symbol. This way you can easily re-open an exchange from before rather than starting a new conversation from scratch.
